How important is vendor viability as an ERP evaluation criteria?

Vendor viability is a consideration. However, in this marketplace, almost every vendor could be for sale or be acquiring. The key thing will be what is the attractive element whether it would be the technology, industry expertise, management team, or engineering talent? If this is quite attractive to the buyer, one can imagine that another acquirer will feel the same way.
